Day 100 – Time to celebrate!

Today is a good day. A fantastic day! I woke up to the sound of children going to school and my first thoughts were about the book that I read last night before going to sleep. I made myself breakfast. And started with my day. This is one of those days were everything just seems to work. I started with some job applications and got two calls immediately after applying. Interviews are set and I am starting to feel really excited and enthusiastic. Besides the job search turning out well, I feel like I am moving again. After a couple months of rest and reflection, the time to work and invest has come again. So tonight I am celebrating. First dinner with all my house mates who are back from holidays. My favourite desert is ready, dinner in the oven. Let's celebrate!

Day 91 – Last day of the year

My last blog of 2016 is here! A couple of months ago, I never would have dreamed that I would end the year with my 92nd blog post. Normally I just write about my day, something that happened and caught my interest, but as you do on the last day of the year, I want to take you through my year with all the ups and downs. My image of the day is from the moment that I came up with the idea to start this blog. The silver lines of a spider web in the warm September sunshine. These are my highlights in silver from 2016.

Day 89 – Reflecting light

Last night I walked around in Amsterdam. This month is the Amsterdam Light Festival. Beautiful art work that brighten up the dark days of December. I walked around with a couple friends. The mist had cleared, the cold was ignored and boats were going around in the famous canals of Amsterdam. The most beautiful piece of art, wasn't one that gave light, but it just reflected the light around it.

Day 32 – One month of being 24

One month. That sounds like so much and nothing at the same time. Today is 2 November 2016. So that means I have been 24 years old for one month now. Time for a little bit of reflection and looking forward. It hasn't necessarily been an easy month. In many ways it's been a wonderful with a lot of positive days, but there have also been a few days in which I wasn't so happy. A few lessons learned.

Day 25 – Childhood dreams

While I am searching for new opportunities, writing more application letters and exploring various options, I am thinking about what I wanted to be when I was a little girl. Childhood memories fly by in my mind. I'm letting them pass by to guide me in making decisions about my next steps.I have always wanted to be a teacher. I also wanted to be mayor of a municipality in the north of the Netherlands. Literally no other reason than the awesome name of the place. I wanted to write books and be an artist. I don't think I wanted to be a dolphin trainer.
